Overview
DLT-S4 is the fourth-generation DLT-S (SDLT) product, combining exceptional capacity and performance with affordable drive and media prices. It enables customers to backup today’s higher capacity disk drives on a single tape cartridge, to accelerate backup and restore times, and to reduce management costs. With enhanced manageability features and the proven reliability of DLT® technology, DLT-S4 is the new standard for backup. The Quantum DLT-S4 tape drive features 1.6TB of compressed capacity and a 120 MB/s compressed transfer rate. The DLT-S4 is equipped with DLTSage ™manageability and security features at no additional cost. The DLT-S4 drive is backward read compatible to the SDLT600 and SDLT320, protecting your investment in DLT® technology.

DLT-S4 drives are designed for the high duty cycles that today’s demanding backup environments require. They are subject to rigorous ongoing reliability testing and are specified at an MTBF of 250,000 hours at a 100% duty cycle.
